Location and Facilities

The Indianapolis Rowing Center (IRC), the only community rowing center in the city, is located inside beautiful Eagle Creek Park.  We row on Eagle Creek Reservoir, which is an ideal rowing venue.  IRC has more than 40 boats for club use and ample storage space for members’ rowing shells.

The 2,000-meter course on Eagle Creek Reservoir was the site of the 1987 Rowing events at the Pan-Am Games, the 1994 World Rowing Championships, the 2002 and 2003 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships, and has hosted the USRowing National Championship Regatta 13 times since 1987.  The Indianapolis Rowing Center also hosts high-school and collegiate regattas in the spring and a fall head race, called the Head of the Eagle, each October.
