Masters Program

The IRC Masters Program welcomes adult rowers of all skill levels and ages.  The Masters Program provides an outlet for rowers’ goals by encouraging personal improvement and development in a fun but yet competitive team setting.  The Masters program practices three times per week throughout the year, and competes throughout the summer and fall across the Midwest and region.

The Masters Program training plan is designed to improve boat handling and speed, physical fitness and technique in order to compete at national and regional regattas.  The IRC Masters program emphasizes sweep rowing, though also boats 4x, 2x and 1x at regattas.   IRC has dedicated master’s program coaches who are qualified sweep and sculling instructors.

The Masters program is a benefit of IRC Membership.  All Masters rowers must be IRC members.

Masters registration is now open for the 2010 March 1- 2011 Feb 29th period.  The cost is $30 month for the 3 times per week coaches session and participation in IRC dual summer races. For regional regattas, additional travel and trailer fees apply.  Rowers can pay up front or monthly installments.  This is a 12 month registration, IRC does not prorate this fee. Register for 2010-2011 membership and masters program at regattacentral.com

Rowers wishing to join the Masters for the summer and/or fall only: Registration for seasonal memberships will open April 15, which is approximately when the masters return to the boathouse for the season.

New and returning rowers looking for a team rowing experience with fewer competitive oportunities should see the IRC classes and clinics page for more options.

Coxswains, we need you!  Please contact the director for more information.

IRC ask masters rowers to make a leadership committment by serving on an IRC committee and/ or volunteering at IRC events including regattas, National Learn to Row Day, and fund raising.  Please see the IRC volunteer descriptions and the regattacentral volunteer page to sign up.
