IRC SUMMER COLLEGIATE PROGRAM – What are you doing to get faster this summer?

WELCOME TO THE IRC OAAR PROGRAM!
This program will provide a great opportunity for you to go FASTER. OAAR particiapnats have the We have several regattas lined up for the summer, so you will be able to apply what you have learned on the water during the program to an actual race situation, and  have to wait until you get back to school to apply your improved skills.

Remember, practice begins June 7 at 6:15 am. Bring water, and be ready to row.  I’m excited to start helping you get fast!

 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

IRC’s Open and AA Rowing Program (OAAR) trains for 2000m races and is open to all IRC members who are looking for a coached summer program. Summer is the perfect time to build speed, improve fitness, and meet rowers from other schools.  Please email questions to Willie Black (see bio link below).

OAAR will be coached this summer by Willie Black and Jackie Kleinhans

Tentative OAAR Practice and Regatta Schedule:

June 7  M-F practice begins 6:15-8 a.m.  Meet at the IRC boathouse and be ready to row.  All registration should be completed by this time.

OAAR Rowers are encouraged to compete at the following events:

  • Midwest Masters Sprints @ Columbus (TBA)
  • July 2-4  Indipendence Day Regatta @ Philly
  • July 10  Chicago Sprints @ Lincoln Park

OAAR Rowers will be preparing and competiting as a team at the July 13-17  US Club Nationals–which will be held at IRC.

REGISTER NOW Cost is $200 for the summer.   OAAR members are welcome to train with the masters program in addition to their morning practices, and will enjoy membership prviledges.
