The Programs
Juniors: A competitive high school program comprised of 80-90 students from 17 area high schools. The juniors compete in fall and spring regattas throughout the Midwest. Open to any student, ages 12-18 years. No experience necessary.
Masters: A program for post-collegiate scullers and rowers. This team program is competitive and receives coaching four times a week. Crews compete throughout the Midwest and Nationally.
Adults: A program for post-collegiate scullers and rowers. This team program is for recreational rowers and those wishing to join the masters, but don’t have enough rowing experience yet. They receive coaching three times a week. The Adult rowers compete at the Indianapolis Indoor Rowing championships and the Head of the Eagle regatta in October.
RowIndy: IRC offers a rowing program at two Indianapolis Public Schools – Shortridge High School and Crispus Attucks High School. The students begin in December learning how to row on the indoor rowing machines, or ergs. In March, they moved out to the boathouse to learn how to row in a boat.
Adaptive Program: IRC is in the early stages of developing an Adaptive Rowing Program which will give disabled individuals the opportunity to row.
Classes: IRC offers a variety of classes this spring and summer to suit the needs of most individuals. We have Learn to Row classes, Intermediate Sculling classes, and youth classes. Please visit our classes page for more information.
