The very active IRC Boosters club is comprised of parents of IRC Junior rowers. Parent volunteers help by chaperoning regattas, fundraising and promoting Indianapolis rowing. Without considerable support of parents, the IRC Junior rowing program would not be able to operate.
The Boosters organize a parent call-out meeting to kick-off each racing season (spring and fall). The meeting provides information regarding junior training and regattas, and a forum for parents to learn about Booster volunteer opportunities. A wide variety of opportunities are available, encouraging every parent to get involved.
While the Booster club includes all parents, the club is organized as a number of committees and a Board that provides oversight. Boosters are represented on the IRC Board of Directors by the Booster president (non-voting member).
Appointments to the Booster Board are made in June. There are no term limits. The board meets once a month during the rowing seasons. If you are interested in serving on the board or as a committee chair, please contact the Booster Board president.
To volunteer to work on a committee or for more information contact the Parent Volunteer Chair (currently vacant) or Committee Chairs.
