Spring Season 2011 will commence on March 8th for Varsity rowers and on Marth 14th for Novice rowers. Practice for Varsity rowers is M-F 4-6pm, Sat 8-10am. Practice for Novice rowers is M-F 4-6pm. All rowers need to sign their 2011 USRowing Waiver in order to be able to compete this Spring. The roster code for the waiver is IN-693956.  Please note your confirmation number.  The deadline for signing your waiver is March 21st, so please make this a priority.

Order a uniform.  Uniforms are consistant from year to year, and may be ordered by March 21st.  The only required piece for novice is the racing tank ($35). SPRING-2011-ROWING-UNIFORM-ORDER-FORM

A Swim Test Form is required of all rowers. This test is good for 4 years and is offered by IRC at the beginning of the season. Rowers may also have the test signed off on by a swim coach or certified lifeguard.

Who can join: Any Indianapolis-area student age 12-18.  No previous experience needed! Many rowers begin their rowing careers during high school. The first year that you row with IRC you will be classified as a “Novice,” and will compete at regattas against other Novice teams. After your first year, you will be classified as a “Varsity” rower, and will compete at regattas against other Varsity teams.

What: The high school program at IRC, known as the “Juniors”, meets five times per week after school for practice. This program operates and competes just like any other high school sports team, except it is made up of many Indiana high schools instead of just one. Many schools still offer athletic letters for participation in our program, and it is a great way to learn a new sport, get exercise, and meet new people. New parents, please see our Junior Race and Travel page to learn what rowing regattas (competitions) are all about!

Where: We are very lucky to train on the reservoir in Eagle Creek Park. Our programming is run out of the IRC boathouse, please see our location page for directions.

Why: Rowing is one of the most unique, rewarding, and challenging sports. IRC has a large and competitive co-ed Junior program, where athletes from many different Indiana schools with ages ranging 12-19 come together for fitness, fun and competition. Rowing is like no other sport out there, don’t miss out on the opportunity to do something truly great!
