IRC Guest Rower

 

At the Indianapolis Rowing Center, we are excited to welcome experienced rowers to join our community. We offer one complimentary coached practice with an IRC adult or youth team for visiting rowers.

To participate, please follow the steps and guidelines below:

 

 Guest Rower Requirements

 

  1. USRowing Membership

    Provide proof of a current USRowing membership. ➔ Join USRowing here and use Club Code U7B9H when registering.

  2. Liability Waiver

    Submit a signed USRowing liability waiverUSRowing Liability Waiver.

  3. Practice Coordination & Documentation Submission

    • Adults: Contact Lisa Stickley, Interim Head of Adult Programming, at lisa.stickley@indyrowing.org at least one week in advance. Submit all required documents via email.

    • Youth: Contact Denise Bain, Interim Head of Youth Programming, at denise@indyrowing.org at least one week in advance. Submit all required documents via email.

     

    Please include in your email:

    • A brief summary of your rowing experience

    • How long it has been since you last rowed

    • The date you would like to attend

     

  4. Experience Required

    All guest rowers must be experienced and able to row independently or as part of a team.

  5. Use of Equipment Outside Coached Practice

    Guests may use club equipment outside of coached practices only when supervised by an experienced IRC coach or rower. Use of singles or privately-owned shells requires prior approval from IRC staff or the equipment owner.

 

Swim Test Requirement

 

All guest rowers must have a swim test on file or attest to their ability to swim and tread water per USRowing safety standards.

Age Guidelines

Youth guest rowers must be at least 16 years old, unless pre-approved by the Head of Youth Programming.

Guest Rowing Fees (Beyond One Complimentary Practice)

  • $25 per day
