Learn to Row Classes for Adults
No experience necessary! Rowing is a great total body, low impact fitness workout that uses 85% of your muscles. It is a lifelong sport!
The Indianapolis Rowing Center offers Learn-to-Row classes for new rowers and programs for experienced rowers. Adult Learn-to-Row (LTR) is an introductory class for adults (or parent/child) to the sport of rowing. Over the course of the month (total of 8 classes), IRC coaches will teach you proper rowing technique on the rowing machine and on the water, as well as educate you on rowing terminology, safety, and teamwork.
The focus will be in eight person (sweep) boats. There will be the opportunity to scull (with two oars) on Saturday mornings after you have completed the class.
LTR is month-long course (8 sessions) offered from May to September on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:15-8 pm. Register below!
LTR graduates are invited to attend sculling sessions on Mondays & Thursdays (6:15-8:15 pm) and Saturdays (9-11 am), and sweep sessions on Tuesdays & Thursdays (6:15-8:15 pm) and Saturdays (8-10 am) for free for two months after they finish the LTR class.
Here is some basic safety information for all those thinking about taking up rowing...please let us know if you have any questions!
