Program: Varsity and Novice Teams
Description: Athletes in grades 9 through 12 can start on the Novice Team without any prior rowing experience. Rowers on the Competitive Novice Team will transition to the Varsity Team after one year.
Competitive sweep rowing (one oar per person) and sculling (two oars per person) is a sport that cultivates hardworking, dedicated athletes. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and positive team environment. Our athletes come from over 25 high schools around the Indianapolis area!
All rowers compete in USRowing-sanctioned events held at local, regional, and national regattas.

TRY IT OUT! 2-week trial: August 21st - September 1st just $90 for new rowers. No Obligation after the two weeks. Use the registration link above to register for the season. You'll register for the full season, but by clicking the two week try-it box you will only be billed for the initial $90. If you decide to stay the $90 will be applied to your season balance.
Season: Fall 2023
Ages: 9th - 12th grade
Dates: August 21st - November 6th
Practice Times:
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 4:30 - 6:30 pm
Saturdays 7 - 9 am
Wednesdays 4:30-6:30 pm at Brebeuf
Regattas:
- October 7: Head of the Ohio (Pittsburg, PA)
- October 28: Blake Haxton Fall Regatta (Columbus, OH)
- November 4-5: Head of the Hooch (Chattanooga, TN)
*Attending regattas is an additional charge above the training and equipment fees. Athletes are only charged for regattas they attend. Our team travels via bus and overnight stays are normally required. Parents are encouraged, but not required to travel to the regattas. There are NO REFUNDS on training fees.
Experience: No experience necessary; one year of competitive rowing for Varsity
Location: Indianapolis Rowing Center: 7350 Eagle Beach Drive, Indianapolis IN 46254 (Eagle Creek Park Pass or daily park fee required for park admission)
Training Fee: $690
Equipment Fee: $100
PLEASE NOTE: Invoices for training fees will be sent shortly after registering to the email provided. Training and equipment fees are due prior to the first day of practice.
Payment Plan: If you wish to be put on a payment plan for the training fees please email billing@indyrowin.org. The payment schedule is as follows:
- August 21st - $330 (Includes equipment fee)
- September 15th - $230
- October 15th - $230
