Welcome to IRC Middle School Rowing
The Indianapolis Rowing Center Middle School Program is for students who are eager to learn the basics of rowing while enjoying the fun and camaraderie that comes with the sport. Practices are held twice a week during the Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons. Except for Winter, all sessions take place outdoors.
During a typical practice, athletes will warm up together on land before heading out onto the water. They will practice safe boat-handling skills, familiarize themselves with rowing terminology, and learn fundamental rowing techniques.
Additionally, this program offers athletes the chance to compete with other middle school teams across the Midwest. Open to all students in grades 6 through 8, the Indianapolis Rowing Center Middle School Program welcomes students from a number of schools from across the Indianapolis area. IRC is proud to be a USRowing registered club.
