IRC Heat Safety Protocols
The safety of our members and those that participate in our programs is our top priority. IRC coaches will modify workouts to align with the heat index as outlined in the chart below. Members utilizing the boathouse on their own are strongly encouraged to monitor the heat index and modify workouts accordingly.

Financial Policies and Forms
Class Fees and Membership Refunds Policy
The Indianapolis Rowing Center will not refund class fees or membership fees, except in cases of injury, illness or death. If this is the case, each situation will be coordinated with the Director, Coach(es) and member involved.
If a class is cancelled due to weather or forces outside of IRC's control, another class will be scheduled. If you cannot make it to any other class that is offered, IRC will refund your class fee, minus 3% for processing fees.
You are responsible for registering for the correct class and program. If there is a mistake and you are owed a refund, IRC will grant the credit, minus 3% for processing fees.
If you are enrolled in recurring payments and wish to cancel your membership, you must give IRC a 30 day notice. Recurring payments are taken out on the 1st of each month for that current month.
Eagle Creek Park Gate Fee Policy
The Indianapolis Rowing Center is privileged to be located in Eagle Creek Park, one of the largest City Park in the United States. We enthusiastically support the park, and our members are expected to abide by park rules. IRC members, juniors and parents (dropping off/picking up) are NOT exempt from paying park admission. We suggest that our members and juniors buy a season pass or make a donation to the Eagle Creek Park Foundation at a level that includes a park pass.
Financial Assistance
IRC is committed to making rowing accessible to all. Financial assistance is available to cover training and regatta fees for athletes who qualify. The IRC Financial Assistance Committee will review applications and determine awards based on demonstrated need and fund availability each season/year.
Requirements:
- Rower must attend a minimum of 80% of scheduled practices and regattas (i.e., 5 out of 6 practices/week and regattas as required by the Coach) both before and after financial assistance is awarded to remain in good standing.
- Non-master rowers must be enrolled full-time in school and maintain grades that would sustain athletic eligibility.
- Rower must abide by the IRC Code of Conduct.
- Rower must have at least eight additional volunteer hours for IRC per season, during which financial assistance is granted. The volunteer exchange program is in addition to the 8-hour financial assistance requirement.
Program Details:
- While the Club’s goal is to offer financial assistance every season, actual awards are dependent upon the availability of funds and cannot be guaranteed for every season, regardless of rower eligibility.
- Funds available for financial assistance are made available by fundraising initiatives.
- The signed application and supporting documentation must be submitted to be considered for financial assistance.
- The application and award process will occur for each season. An award in one season is no guarantee that funds will be awarded in future seasons.
- The application must include a detailed statement and/or evidence of the basis for the need for financial assistance.
- The Financial Assistance Committee will review applications.
- Funds will be awarded objectively and non-discriminatory. Anyone involved in the decision-making process who has an interest, direct or indirect, in the outcome of a particular financial assistance decision will recuse themselves from participating in that decision.
- The applicant's identity, application, and any supporting materials submitted will be held in strict confidence. Tax ID numbers (e.g., SSNs) and bank account information on tax forms should be redacted before submission with the application.
- Approval methodology & guidelines for review and acceptance are subject to change without notice.
